MATT MACKENZIE

Matt MacKenzie, owner/co-founder of RESULTS Basketball, LLC.  brings over 10 years of player development experience to Maine REACT - working as a skills coach & developing basketball players from the youth to professional level. MacKenzie is a former 1000 point scorer and captain on the hardwood at Husson University who also has 11 years of teaching experience public schools,  in addition to running his business in the player development industry.  

​

Matt earned his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology/Physical Education from Husson in 2010, his Performance Enhancement Certification (NASM) in 2012, and is currently finishing up his Masters Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Arkansas Graduate Program and owns/operates Unlock Your Potential Training & Performance Center in Bangor.

LAUREE GOTT

HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION

Lauree Gott has nearly 30 years of coaching experience (from the middle school level all the way up to NCAA Division 1.)

Coach Gott recently returned to the bench as an assistant coach for Husson University, where she started her career as a head coach in 1988-1989, leading Husson to a 28-2 mark. She then handed over the reigns to Coach Walker - to pursue a job at NCAA D1 Northeastern University for several years only to return to Maine later on. 

​

 Gott was a four-year letterwinner as a forward for the women’s basketball team at the University of Maine from 1983,84-87. She tallied 1,387 points and 781 rebounds in 115 career games played, while averaging 12.0 points-per-game. The 1987 Seaboard Conference First Team All-Conference selection currently sits ninth all-time in points and rebounds at UMaine. The two-time (1986, 1987) captain helped guide the Black Bears to an 83-32 record.

RANDY DODGE

HS DIVISION

Randy Dodge, Coach Walker’s long time assistant, enters his 25th season (1992-94,97-01,04-20) as an assistant coach with the Husson women’s basketball team in 2019-2020.

In 2003-04, Dodge begin his third stint on the sidelines, since then he has helped guide the Eagles to six North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Regular Season titles in 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2018-19, six NAC Championships in 2009-10, 2010-11, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 and seven berths into NCAA DIII National Championship Tournament in 2003-04, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19

JEN FOLSOM

MIDDLE SCHOOL DIV.

 Jenn Folsom coached 4 season as assistant women’s basketball coach at Husson University. 

In the 2015-16 season, Folsom helped the Eagles earn the program’s first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship and berth into NCAA DIII National Championship Tournament since 2010-11 with a 58-49 win over arch-rival Castleton, ending the Spartans’ three-year reign as Champions, while producing their first 20-win (21-7) season since 2003-04. Three players collected post season accolades.

Folsom helped guide the Eagles to a second place finish in the NAC in 2014-15 and an appearance in the conference tournament semifinals. Two players were named All-NAC that year.

Jen has also coached at the middle & HS level.

LIZA MUTH

MIDDLE SCHOOL DIV.

Coach Liza (Doughty) Muth 

was a standout point guard and is considered to be one of the best all-around basketball players to play for Hall of Fame head coach Kissy Walker because of her ability to score, play airtight defense, pass well and shoot from the outside.

Doughty, a four-year letterwinner from 1998-2001, finished her career with 1,082 points, 408 rebounds, 222 steals, 449 assists and seven blocks in 107 games played, 

The 2001 Kodak All-American Honorable Mention selection entered the Hall of Fame as the program’s all-time career leader in assists. Her ability to lead has transitioned to coaching, as Liza has been actively involved at the youth, middle, and varsity levels in Hermon.

STEVE WACEKEN

MIDDLE SCHOOL DIV.

Coach Waceken is in his 3rd season as an assistant coach at Husson University. He is known throughout New England as a "Read & React Offense Guru" and helps to install the system for many amateur, middle school, and high school programs regionally. Waceken helped the Eagles to a 19-9 overall record in 2018-19, including a near miss of the program’s first undefeated conference season since the 2009-10 season by going 13-0 before dropping the final NAC game of the regular season en route to earning the top seed in the NAC Tournament for the seventh time in program history and the most in NAC history.

SUE ALLEN

MIDDLE SCHOOL DIV.

Coach Allen is a Husson Hall of Fame player who has since gained years of coaching experience at the middle and high school level. As a player, her career statistics include 107 games played, 1036 points scored, 214 steals, 357 assists and 369 rebounds. Her 117 assists in her senior year is one of the highest season totals in the history of the program. She was a true leader & captain and her ability to lead has transferred to her mentorship and ability to coach and develop young players. Sue has been actively involved in coaching youth sports, middle school and HS athletics at Central HS for years.

SHAWN DEMARAY

DIRECTOR OF SPORTS PERFORMANCE

Shawn Demaray, founder of Queen City Athletics, LLC. and co-owner of Unlock Your Potential Training Center brings a decade of experience working as a strength & performance coach for athletes up to the highest level.

Demaray, a former all-conference lineman for the University of Maine (NCAA Div. I) football program brings years of experience in the coaching and training industry. Over the past decade, Shawn has worked as a full-time assistant coach for the University of Maine and Husson University football programs under legendary coaches, Jack Cosgrove and Gabby Price. 

Shawn holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Maine, and earned his CPT and Performance Enhancement Certification in 2012.
